Believing in the importance of its effective role in serving the Egyptian society, the college participated in the World Diabetes Day in cooperation with the Faculty of Nursing, Misr University for Science and Technology on Sunday 14/11/2021 to spread awareness necessary to reduce the symptoms of the disease and prevent its complications in the Egyptian society and to spread the methods of diagnosis in order to avoid its side effects, treatment methods and various symptoms that include oral health, because of its negative reciprocal relationship between blood sugar level and oral health, the college conducted a lecture talking about the relationship of infections in the tissues surrounding the teeth and the level of sugar in the blood, as well as the effect of high blood sugar. Oral health is due to the increase in the rates of rotting and dry mouth, the symptoms that it causes, and the increase in the incidence of various infections. A number (193) of faculty members, the supporting staff and students from the faculties of medicine, oral and dental surgery, nursing and human medicine attended. The President of the University, Prof. Dr. Omar Abu Doah, Prof. Dr. Dean of the Faculty of Nursing, and the Vice Deans for the Faculty of Nursing attended, and the Vice Dean for Environment and Community Service College of Oral and Dental Surgery attended. The lecture was delivered by Dr. Radwa Muhammad Ismail, Lecturer in the Department of Oral Medicine, Periodontology, Oral Diagnosis and Radiology and Dr Silvia Sabry Tawfik, a Lecturer in the Operative division of the Department of Conservative Surgery. The lecture was entitled (Impact of diabetes mellitus on oral cavity and vice versa).
