On Monday, April 14, the Community Service and Environmental Development Sector at the Faculty of Medicine, 6th of October University, held its semi-annual meeting with external community stakeholders who regularly participate in the college’s outreach activities.

The meeting was held in the presence of:

Professor Dr. Nehad El-Mahboub, Acting University President, Dean of the College of Medicine, and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Souad Kafafi University Hospital;

Professor Dr. Ahmed Fouad, Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development; Professor Dr. Amira Al-Ansari, Director of the College’s Quality Assurance Unit;

Professor Dr. Mohamed Abdel Hakim, Director of the University’s Quality Assurance Center;

Professor Dr. Hamdi Nabawy, Head of the Department of Neurosurgery and Rapporteur of the Community Service and Environmental Development Sector; and representatives of the Student Union. Among the external community members in attendance were:

•Prof. Dr. Wael Reda, Media Advisor and Member of Triple M Construction Company;

•Prof. Dr. Ibrahim Owais, Member of Parliament, Head of the Department of Neurosurgery at Al-Azhar University, and President of the Egyptian Society of Neurosurgery;

•Prof. Gamal Emaira, Deputy Head of the Doctors Syndicate, Head of the Surgical Oncology Department at the National Cancer Institute, President of the International Society of Surgical Oncology, and Member of the European Board of Surgical Oncology Examination Committee.

• Prof. Dina Husseini, from the Atomic Energy Authority.

• Mr. Ihab Hamdy, President of the Rotary Club of Cairo.

• Mr. Mohamed Helmy, Director at Egyptian Television.

• Mr. Tarek Hassanein, Member of Parliament, Head of the Cereal Industry Chamber, and President of the Tersana Club.

The meeting discussed details of the implementation of the annual plan for the 2024/2025 academic year, as well as ways to address challenges and enhance the societal role of the college and its students. As well as participating in the activities of the second MUST Career Summit.
