Egypt’s maternity policy provides female employees with 120 days (four months) of paid maternity leave, up to three times during their service. This paid leave includes at least 45 days after childbirth, and employers with over 100 female employees are required to provide childcare facilities. Additional provisions include reduced working hours for pregnant employees from the sixth month and two daily 30-minute paid breaks for breastfeeding mothers.

Law No. 81/2016 concerns women’s four-month vacation due to parturition. As well as a particular vacation to accompany the hubby overseas. Misr University for Science and Technology allows mothers to leave early to care for their children. It specializes in the lactation period, which can last up to two years. Furthermore, there is the opportunity of taking a vacation to care for her family and husband if he travels overseas. By enacting specific laws on women’s empowerment and human rights, the Egyptian government protected and guaranteed the rights of working women. Egypt’s strategic goals to promote women’s rights have been implemented. Misr University for Science and Technology comply with Egyptian labour laws. Policy and laws were implemented in 2016 and are still in effect today.
