As part of a meaningful initiative to promote oral health awareness, the College of Oral and Dental Surgery at Misr University for Science and Technology (MUST) organized a field visit to Baheya Breast Cancer Hospital on Tuesday, May 15, 2025. The visit aimed to educate patients and staff on the importance of dental care, provide free dental check-ups, and refer advanced cases to the university’s dental clinics.
The visit was conducted in collaboration with the university’s Equal Opportunities and Gender Equality Unit, reflecting the unit’s vital societal role in promoting women’s health and awareness. A team from MUST’s Public Relations Department also took part in the visit.
Organized as part of the college’s community outreach program, the visit featured interactive sessions on proper oral hygiene practices, the link between oral and overall health, and the special dental care needs of cancer patients undergoing treatment. Faculty members and teaching assistants performed initial examinations, identified cases requiring further care, and referred them to the specialized clinics at the college.
As a gesture of care and appreciation, the visiting team distributed oral hygiene kits—including toothpaste, toothbrushes, and educational brochures—to both patients and hospital staff. The initiative was warmly received by Baheya Hospital’s administration, who expressed their gratitude and praised the collaborative effort. This visit reaffirmed MUST’s strong commitment to community service and its mission to raise awareness about oral health and wellness
