The Gender Equality and Equal Opportunities Unit organized a seminar entitled:
“Sinai… The Will of a Nation (War – Peace – Development)”
Delivered by: Air Vice Marshal (Ret.) Hisham El-Halaby,
Advisor to the Military Academy for Postgraduate and Strategic Studies,
on Wednesday, October 8, 2025, at 1:00 p.m.
in the Main Conference Hall at the University.
Air Vice Marshal El-Halaby was received in the VIP Hall by Prof. Dr. Hala El-Menoufy, President of the University; and the Dean of the College of Oral and Dental Surgery; Prof. Dr. Emad Khalil, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development; Prof. Dr. Nehad El-Mahboub, Dean of the College of Medicine; and Dr. Sara Abdallah Ahmed, Director of Academic Operations.
At the beginning of the seminar, Prof. Dr. Hala El-Menoufy warmly welcomed Air Vice Marshal El-Halaby, the attending deans, vice presidents, College members, teaching assistants, and the large audience of university students from various faculties.
The seminar was further honored by the presence of families of the nation’s martyrs, including:
They were honored and presented with certificates of appreciation and commemorative shields in recognition and deep gratitude for their noble sacrifices and their sons’ devotion to the homeland.
In her address, Prof. Dr. Hala El-Menoufy spoke about the Glorious October War, emphasizing its historical significance for Egypt and the Arab world, and highlighting the importance of instilling in today’s youth an understanding of this monumental event that restored the nation’s pride and dignity.
Air Vice Marshal Hisham El-Halaby then presented a detailed account of the October War, explaining the strategy behind the destruction of the Bar Lev Line and showcasing official military documents and maps that illustrated the stages of the war leading to the great victory.
A constructive dialogue followed between His Excellency and the students, who posed several insightful questions regarding the events of the war and its enduring impact on national awareness.
At the conclusion of the seminar, Prof. Dr. Hala El-Menoufy presented the University Shield to Air Vice Marshal Hisham El-Halaby in appreciation of his efforts and in recognition of the honor of his presence at Misr University for Science and Technology.
She also presented certificates and honorary shields to the mothers of the martyrs in tribute to the sacrifices of their sons for the glory and advancement of the homeland.
