About:

The Cultural Heritage Center (CHC) reflects the role of the Community Service and Environmental Development Sector at Misr University for Science and Technology to protect cultural heritage and support cultural exchange. The center provides a framework for the study, preservation, and dissemination of tangible and intangible cultural heritage, and to support and endorse cultural exchange.

The CHC promotes awareness and appreciation of cultural heritage and Egyptian legacy within the university, among stakeholders, and across the wider local and global community. Through academic programs, innovative research initiatives, curated exhibitions, community‑oriented activities, and accessible digital resources, the Center seeks to expand knowledge, encourage cultural participation, and support sustainable development principles in alignment with national priorities and international frameworks.

To support, preserve, and promote tangible and intangible cultural heritage for the benefit of present and future generations, and to foster the diversity of cultural expressions through field and academic studies, events and initiatives.

The Cultural Heritage Center (CHC) aspires to be a leading institutional hub for preserving, supporting, and promoting cultural identity, aiming to make heritage arts and culture accessible for individuals of diverse ages and backgrounds.

CHC aims to achieve:

  1. Documentation and Conservation:
  • Enhance preservation of tangible and intangible heritage via digital documentation and sustainable conservation practices.
  • Integrate modern conservation technologies through equipping a digital lab at MUST.
  1. Community Engagement:
  • Enhance scholarly and public understanding of tangible and intangible heritage through cultural events.
  • Promote heritage as a tool to enhance national identity and social inclusion through heritage-related initiatives.
  1. Capacity Building and Research:
  • Promote interdisciplinary programs that foster innovative knowledge and skills in the field of heritage.
  • Expand capacity-building activities through national and international agreements.
  1. Sustainable Development and Innovation:
  • Support heritage-related crafts and arts to conserve heritage and promote it as a driver of economic growth.
  • Support innovative use of technology in heritage-related initiatives.
  • Contribute to sustainable cultural development in alignment with Egypt’s Vision 2030 and the UN Sustainable Development Goals.
  1. Outreach:
  • Establish partnerships with heritage related national and international entities such as UNESCO, ICCROM, and ICOMOS.
  • Diversify resources via grants and sponsorships of cultural-related activities and programs.
