The College of Oral and Dental Surgery at Misr University for Science and Technology organized a distinguished scientific day for internship students, under the title “Artificial Intelligence in Dental Applications,” on May 22, 2025 as part of the college’s keenness to keep pace with global technological developments and integrate them into the medical field.
The college hosted Professor Liam Blunt, Professor of Engineering and Technology in the Department of Computing and Engineering, and Director of the Centre for Precision Technologies at the University of Huddersfield, UK.
Professor Blunt delivered a comprehensive lecture in which he reviewed the latest research on the use of artificial intelligence in the diagnosis and treatment of oral and dental diseases. He also addressed the role of precision analysis technologies in developing smart tools and applications that bring about a qualitative leap in the efficiency and quality of services provided in dental clinics.
The lecture witnessed significant student Interaction, as they participated in rich discussions with the lecturer, reflecting their awareness of the importance of this field for the future of dental medicine. The day concluded with an open session to answer students’ questions and exchange views on how to integrate artificial intelligence into the academic curriculum and clinical practice. This scientific day comes as part of the college’s plan to enhance its students’ competence and qualify them for the global labor market by enriching their knowledge of the latest technological trends in dentistry
