College of Medicine Organizes the 7th and 8th Medical Convoys

As part of its ongoing commitment to community service, the College of Medicine at Misr University for Science and Technology organized its seventh and eighth medical convoys for the 2024/2025 academic year, in collaboration with the October Health Directorate. The convoys were held at two health units in 6th of October City: the Primary Healthcare Unit in Masaken Othman and the Family Health Unit in the Sixth District. Each convoy offered four specialized clinics, providing free medical consultations and treatments in the following fields:

• Pediatrics

• Internal Medicine

• Cardiovascular Medicine

• Neurosurgery

More than 200 patients benefited from the convoys, receiving both medical care and free medications, with the support of the College of Pharmaceutical Sciences and Drug Manufacturing. Under the supervision of faculty members and assistant staff, the medical teams also offered pharmaceutical counseling and health awareness sessions. Medications were supplied through the “Use Your Home Pharmacy for Good” initiative, conducted by the SEF MUST Student Experimental Factory. This initiative encourages the donation of unused but valid medications from households to those in need. Collection boxes are distributed throughout the university to gather these medications, in line with MUST’s commitment to community solidarity, responsible resource utilization, and waste reduction. These efforts are part of the College of Medicine’s strategic plan to enhance community engagement and contribute to environmental and public health development
