College Of Languages and Translation

In the first cooperation protocol between the National Center for Translation and a private university… The College of Languages and Translation and the National Center for Translation witness the signing of a cooperation protocol to enhance cultural exchange between both parties

As part of its commitment to fostering fruitful collaboration and cultural exchange, the College of Foreign Languages and Translation at Misr University for Science and Technology, under the presidency of Professor Dr. Nehad El Mahboub, has signed a cooperation protocol with the National Center for Translation, affiliated with the Egyptian Ministry of Culture. The protocol was signed on Wednesday, May 8, by Prof. Hussein Ibrahim, Dean of the College of Foreign Languages and Translation, and Prof. Karma Sami, Director of the National Center for Translation.

This protocol, which is considered the first of its kind between the National Center for Translation and a private university, aims to enhance avenues of collaboration and mutual cultural exchange between the two institutions. It also seeks to disseminate knowledge in its various forms and provide access to its sources, while leveraging academic and research expertise through several key initiatives. These include enriching the college’s library with the Center’s publications, offering training opportunities for outstanding students through specialized programs organized by the Center to support and strengthen their translation skills, and engaging faculty members and translation experts from various language departments to benefit from their professional experience.

For the first time in the history of the National Center for Translation, the collaboration will also include the participation of distinguished students from all college departments in translating select works of Arab cultural thought into various languages. These translations will be published with the students’ names, under the academic supervision of their professors. Prof. Hussein Ibrahim, the college Dean, stated that this protocol reflects the implementation of directives and policies endorsed by His Excellency Mr. Khaled El-Toukhy, Chairman of the Board of Trustees, and His Excellency Prof. Nehad El Mahboub, President of the University. These directives emphasize the importance of engaging with the surrounding community and creating new avenues of excellence for the academic programs offered by the University
