Scientific Cooperation between MUST and NARSS

In line with efforts to strengthen academic and research collaboration, a joint cooperation protocol was signed between Misr University for Science and Technology (MUST) and the National Authority for Remote Sensing and Space Sciences (NARSS) on Tuesday, April 29, 2025, at the university’s main campus.

The protocol was signed by Professor Dr. Emad Khalil, Vice President of MUST for Community Service and Environmental Development, on behalf of Professor Dr. Nehad El-Mahboub, Acting President of the University, and Professor Dr. Islam Abu El-Magd, President of the National Authority for Remote Sensing and Space Sciences.

This protocol sets forth the implementation of advanced training programs over a two-year period, aimed at enhancing the competencies of students and graduates of the College of Information Technology in key disciplines, including remote sensing, geographic information systems (GIS), artificial intelligence (AI), digital media, and both aerial and terrestrial surveying.

During the signing ceremony, both parties accentuate the pivotal role of this cooperation in fostering innovation and cultivating national expertise in line with Egypt’s Vision 2030. Professor Dr. Emad Khalil affirmed: “We firmly believe in the significance of integrating with prominent research institutions to elevate the quality of education and scientific research at our university.”

In turn, Professor Dr. Islam Abu El-Magd emphasized: “We are committed to empowering youth and deepening collaboration with academic institutions as a cornerstone of realizing Egypt’s Vision 2030.”

The signing was attended by a distinguished delegation of academic and scientific leaders from both institutions, including:

● Professor Dr. Iman Karam El-Sayed – Dean of the College of Information Technology.

● Professor Dr. Khaled Abdel Salam – Vice Dean for Community Service Affairs.

● Professor Dr. El-Sayed Badr – Vice Dean for Education and Student Affairs.

● Professor Dr. Mohamed Marei – Vice Dean for Graduate Studies.

● Alongside several college members, researchers, and representatives from the National Authority for Remote Sensing and Space Sciences.

This strategic collaboration marks a pivotal step toward aligning academic education with the evolving needs of the labor market, opening new frontiers for technological excellence and research synergy, and equipping Egypt’s emerging professionals with the tools to lead in an increasingly digital future.
