MUST Policy for Disabilities

I-The disability Policy at Misr University for Science and Technology (MUST) is grounded in the principles of equality, non-discrimination, and inclusion. The university recognizes disability as a protected characteristic and is committed to ensuring people with disabilities have equal access to admission, education, services, employment and opportunities within the institution. MUST provide equal access though non-discrimination, reasonable adjustments, and adequate funding to ensure full inclusion of people with disabilities

 

2- Reasonable Adjustments:

A fundamental component of this policy is the provision of reasonable adjustments. MUST ensures that appropriate modifications are made to remove barriers that may hinder the full participation of individuals with disabilities.

These adjustment may include

  • Academic accommodation such as extended examination time, alternative assessment methods, and adapted learning materials.
  • The university provides physical accessibility measures, including ramps, elevators, and accessible facilities.
  • Assistive technologies to support learning.  Modified teaching materials

 

3- Adequate Funding & Provisions:

The policy emphasizes the importance of adequate funding and resources.

MUST is committed to allocating sufficient financial and institutional support to ensure that these reasonable adjustments and provisions are effectively implemented. This includes funding for accessibility infrastructure, assistive devices, and specialized support services, thereby translating policy into practical outcomes.

4- Integration of Students with Disabilities :

The university also promotes the integration of students with disabilities into all aspects of academic and sodial life. Rather than segregation, MUST adopts an inclusive approach that encourages active participation in teaching, research, and extracurricular activities. This ensures that students with disabilities can fully engage in the university experience.

5- Institutional Support:

Institutional support is provided through specialized units responsible for monitoring equality and handling complaints related to discrimination . These mechanisms ensure accountability and continuous improvement in the implementation of disability policies.
