The Third MUST Garage Sale 2025

As part of consolidating the concepts of sustainability and promoting a culture of reuse within the university community, the Third MUST Garage Sale 2025 began on Sunday, May 4, 2025, and continued for two consecutive days. This event was a joint collaboration between the College of Pharmaceutical Sciences and Pharmaceutical Manufacturing and the Central Library at Misr University for Science and Technology.

This event represented a practical embodiment of the college’s pioneering initiative, “Towards Zero Waste,” where a variety of pre-owned items were displayed and exchanged through purchase vouchers that enabled participants to obtain new items. This experience reflected the growing awareness within the university of the importance of responsible consumption and recycling.

Objectives of the Event:

The event aimed to support several Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), including:

  • Goal 1: No Poverty
  • Goal 11: Sustainable Cities and Communities
  • Goal 12: Responsible Consumption and Production
  • Goal 17: Partnerships for the Goals

It also achieved a number of complementary objectives, most notably:

  1. Applying the principles of “Zero Waste” in organizing the event
  2. Raising awareness of the concepts of recycling and reuse
  3. Supporting charitable work by allocating some of the items for community purposes
  4. Enhancing collaboration between different colleges and administrative departments
  5. Maximizing the use of available resources and minimizing waste
  6. Implementing sustainability policies such as reusing paper and reducing overall waste

Participation and Engagement:

The event witnessed active participation from College members, teaching assistants, administrative staff, specialists, and technicians from various Colleges across the university, reflecting a spirit of community solidarity and growing environmental awareness within the campus.
