The Austrian Author “Ana Marwan” Enriches the German Language Literary Scene with her Fascinating Novel.

Under the auspices of Mr. Khaled el Toukhy, Chairman of the Board of Trustees; Prof. Nihad Al-Mahboub, President of Misr University of Science and Technology; Prof. Hussein Ibrahim, Dean of the College of Foreign Languages and Translation;, the Department of German Language and Translation at Misr University for Science and Technology organized a special literary event featuring the Austrian writer and author “Ana Marwan.” Merfan is considered one of the prominent literary voices in contemporary Austrian literature and was awarded the prestigious Bachmann Prize in 2022, one of the highest literary awards honoring creative writing in the German-speaking world. Through her works, she has inspired many with her unique style and depth in addressing humanitarian issues.

The meeting was attended by faculty members, teaching assistants, and students from the German department. Present at the meeting were Prof. Magdy Abdel Qader, Vice President of the University for Graduate Studies and Research; Ms. Caroline von Bank, Deputy Director of the Austrian Cultural Forum at the Austrian Embassy in Cairo; Prof. Hussein Ibrahim, Dean of the College of Languages and Translation; Prof. Ahmed Adel, College Vice Dean for Community Service and Environment; and Prof. Adel Saleh, Head of the Department of German Language and Translation and College Vice Dean for Graduate Studies and Research.

During the meeting, the author “Ana Marwan” read excerpts from one of her works, which impressed the attendees who responded positively to the presented texts. The event also featured literary and cultural discussions that enriched the dialogue between the author and the audience, providing students with the opportunity to benefit from her literary experience.
