Misr University of Science and Technology is keen to keep pace with scientific and educational developments and with the State’s interest in preparing a teacher as the cornerstone of the educational process in accordance with renewed visions and concepts that contribute to meeting the challenges of the future.
In view of the serious shortage of special needs teachers and specialists, and the absence of a specialized college to prepare educational staff for the care and education of special needs in Egypt and the Arab world, the Board of Trustees and the Board of the University of Science and Technology of Egypt have considered the establishment of a special education college to be responsible for preparing teachers and qualified, skilled and skilled specialists with positive trends of work in this area, as the first unique private education college in Egypt and the Arab world.
The College of Special Education is a newly-established college that strives to prepare teachers to deal with students with special needs. The college also aims at being a leader in research related to students with disabilities. The college has a respective reputation at national, regional, and international levels.
Our mission is to prepare teachers to educate students with special needs within the frame of national and international standards. Our aim is to provide applied scientific research to solve the educational problems of students with special needs.
Because of the importance of people with special needs and their role in developed societies, Egypt paid attention to this distinguished category in all its development plans, and it was necessary for educational institutions in Egypt to work on providing qualified teachers and graduates to facilitate communication and dealing with them as their inherent right and their integration into society to ensure the exihibting of their own abilities and creative energies. In this sense, the Faculty of Special Education at Misr University for Science and Technology (MUST) was established in 2014 to prepare teachers and graduates specialized in dealing with people with special needs, as the first faculty of its kind; not only in Egypt, but also in the Arab universities and the Middle East; to be a unique model for preparing teachers and specialists to work in the field of special education and student preparation. Their programs have been developed within the framework of the National Authority for Quality Assurance and Accreditation (NAQAAE) standards in the special education sector and the standards of the American Council for Exceptional Children (CEC). The mission of the College of Special Education is also to prepare special education specialists, and the college aspires to develop its performance by enhancing the scientific pursuit of educational knowledge and skills through teaching, scientific research, and community service.
