Egyptian-Chinese Partnership at Misr University for Science and Technology

As part of Misr University for Science and Technology’s strategy to enhance international cooperation, Professor Nihad Al-Mahboub, the university’s president, welcomed a delegation from Qingdao University, led by Dr. Xu Jinyan, the university president. The delegation included the dean of the College of Medicine, the dean of the College of Foreign Languages and Translation, the coordinator of international relations, and the director of foreign student affairs. The meeting aimed to discuss ways to establish joint cooperation between the two universities in various scientific fields and academic disciplines.

Attendants from the College of Medicine included Prof. Nancy Zaghloul, the vice dean, Prof. Enas Abdel Rahim, the director of educational development, and Prof. Mohamed Zazou, the hospital director. The College of Languages and Translation was presented by Prof. Hussein Ibrahim, the dean, Prof. Ahmed Adel, the vice dean for community service and environmental development, and Assoc. Prof. Hanan Shokry, the vice dean for education and student affairs.

Both universities expressed their commitment to opening new avenues for collaboration with distinguished international institutions and forming educational and research partnerships, in line with the university’s policy of openness to the world. The two sides signed two memoranda of understanding for cooperation between the Colleges of Medicine and the Colleges of Languages and Translation at both universities.

Prof. Nihad Al-Mahboub presented a comprehensive overview of the university and the College of Medicine, highlighting its academic programs and outstanding material and human resources, as well as aspects of student activities offered at the university. He also emphasized the university’s interest in providing professional training opportunities for graduates in collaboration with distinguished universities through joint training centres.

The Chinese delegation also presented an overview of Qingdao University, detailing its College of Medicine and the College of Foreign Languages, along with their academic programs and exceptional resources, as well as aspects of research activities and affiliated teaching hospitals. The meeting concluded with a tour around the university’s facilities, including visits to the College of Medicine, Souad Kafafi University Hospital, the College of Languages and Translation, and MUST’s Central Library
