As part of international academic cooperation and the enhancement of educational relations, under the auspices of Mr. Khaled El-Toukhy, Chairman of the Board of Trustees, Prof. Dr. Nehad El-Mahboub, President of Misr University for Science and Technology, and Prof. Dr. Sherif Shaheen, Dean of the College of Special Education, the official delegation from Nanjing Normal University of Special Education in China was received on Monday, October 28, 2024, in the VIP lounge at the university.

The meeting was attended by the esteemed university president and vice presidents, along with Major General Tarek, Director of Public Relations, Major General Khaled El-Wahsh, Director of University Security, Prof. Dr. Hussein Ibrahim, Dean of the College of Foreign Languages and Translation, Prof. Dr. Sherif Shaheen, Dean of the College of Special Education, the college’s vice deans, heads of academic departments, and several faculty members.

During the meeting, the Memorandum of Understanding between the College of Special Education at Misr University for Science and Technology and Nanjing Normal University of Special Education in China was signed, with a commemorative shield presented by Misr University for Science and Technology to the President of Nanjing Normal University, symbolizing the depth of mutual cooperation.

This was followed by a meeting in the university’s conference hall, where the session was opened with a speech by the President of Nanjing Normal University of Special Education, who introduced the university and the Chinese delegation members. Prof. Dr. Sherif Kamel Shaheen, Dean of the College, then gave an introductory presentation about the college, explaining its administrative and academic structure.

Prof. Dr. Basma Badr, Vice Dean for Education and Student Affairs, reviewed the college’s programs and educational regulations, while Prof. Dr. Hanan Fayyad, Vice Dean for Graduate Studies and Research, provided information about the college’s first international conference, the scientific journal, and the graduate studies regulations. Prof. Dr. Omar El-Sayed Hamada, Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development, discussed the college’s role in community service, in line with Egypt’s Vision 2030, and the importance of collaboration with various institutions in the field of special needs.

At the end of the session, students from the College of Special Education presented an artistic performance in sign language, adding a distinctive touch to the meeting.

Subsequently, a meeting was held between the Dean of the College, the vice deans, and the heads of academic departments to explore cooperation opportunities and areas, with commemorative photos taken.

The activities also included introductory tours of the services and facilities at Misr University for Science and Technology, where the delegation visited the central library, led by Dr. Nada Labib, General Director of University Libraries and Advisor to the Chairman of the Board of Trustees for Library Affairs, accompanied by faculty members. Additionally, they visited the museum of the College of Archaeology, where a detailed explanation of the museum’s components was provided. At the end of the visit, the delegation toured other university facilities, such as student services and sports fields, and exchanged commemorative gifts between the Dean of the College and the President of Nanjing Normal University of Special Education, reflecting the spirit of cooperation and partnership between the two institutions
