The college’s 3rd International Conference, titled “Industrial Pharmacy: From Laboratory to Market,” was held on September 28–29, 2024, at MUST Opera House

Conference Themes:

The conference emphasized the importance of integrating academic research with the pharmaceutical industry, focusing on enhancing medical and environmental sustainability, and exploring the therapeutic benefits of natural products. It also included workshops and discussion sessions on entrepreneurship and research projects.

Conference Recommendations:

  1. Utilize the expertise of industry professionals holding PhDs to teach practical components related to factory operations within certain courses.
  2. Enhance the role of faculty members in industrial institutions by appointing them as consultants or board members.
  3. Transform student field visits, both at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels, into opportunities to identify issues within factories and develop research topics aimed at improving industrial efficiency.
  4. Involve industry experts in the development of curricula related to the industry and review practical aspects in collaboration with faculty members.
  5. Develop workshops focused on continuing education and career guidance in line with market needs and industrial requirements.
  6. Equip college laboratories to produce large quantities of active materials and other substances to serve as backup support in case of resource shortages.
  7. Increase efforts to attract funding for scientific projects that translate research into practical applications benefiting society.
  8. Select research topics derived from industrial challenges to ensure the provision of real solutions that support the industrial pharmacy sector.
  9. Engage with entities responsible for manufacturing policies to strengthen collaboration between academia and industry by establishing clear and constructive policies.
  10. Increase funding for research projects focusing on the development of biosimilars.
