The Arab Heritage Research Center at Misr University of Science and Technology held a seminar to honor Professor Dr. Ahmed Fuad Pasha, an expert at the center, on the occasion of his selection as the Personality of the Year for Heritage Research in the Arab world. The seminar took place on Saturday, April 20, 2024. It was auspicious that the date coincided with the birth of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) according to the Gregorian calendar (April 20, 571 CE). The seminar was titled “The Efforts of Professor Dr. Ahmed Fuad Pasha in the Field of Arab Scientific Heritage and Cultural Communication,” organized by the Arab Heritage Center at Egypt University of Science and Technology under the presidency of Professor Dr. Anas Atiya Al-Faqi. This was part of the activities of the Arab Manuscript Day for the year 2024, which lasted from April 19th until the end of the month, in cooperation with the Organization of Education, Culture and Science (ALECSO) and the Institute of Arabic Manuscripts
Initially, Professor Dr. Anas Atiya Al-Faqi, Director of the Arab Heritage Center at Egypt University of Science and Technology, welcomed the guests who watched a documentary film about the honored Professor Dr. Ahmed Fuad Pasha. The seminar featured speeches by Professor Dr. Abdelhamid Madkur, Secretary-General of the Arabic Language Academy in Cairo and Secretary-General of the Union of Linguistic Academies, Professor Dr. Osama Talaat, President of the General Authority for Books, Professor Dr. Mohamed Al-Kahlawi, President of the Arab Archaeologists Union, Professor Dr. Medhat Issa, Director of the Manuscripts Center at the Alexandria Library, Professor Dr. Khalid Fahmi, an expert at the Arabic Language Academy, and Professor Dr. Mahmoud Mahdi, an expert at the Arab Heritage Center at Egypt University of Science and Technology
Professor Dr. Anas Atiya Al-Faqi, Director of the Arab Heritage Center at Egypt University of Science and Technology, recited a poem titled “The Land of Martyrs,” written by him as a tribute to the steadfast and stationed in beloved Palestine.
The attendees listened to the anthem “O Jerusalem,” performed by Professor Dr. Ahmed Adel Abdel Mawla, Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Languages and Translation at Misr University of Science and Technology.
The seminar was attended by Professor Dr. Mukhtar Al-Zawahiri, Vice President of Egypt University of Science and Technology, Professor Dr. Ahmed Amin, Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Antiquities and Tourism Guidance at Egypt University of Science and Technology, Professor Dr. Husseini Al-Gindi, an expert at the Arab Heritage Center and head of the Pharmacognosy Department at the Faculty of Pharmacy, Egypt University of Science and Technology, and Dr. Ahmed Samy ElMongy, technical member of the Arab Heritage Center.
Professor Dr. Ahmed Fuad Pasha was presented with the Excellence Shield for his service to Arab heritage, by Professor Dr. Anas Atiya Al-Faqi, Director of the Arab Heritage Center, and Professor Dr. Mukhtar Al-Zawahiri, Vice President of the University.
