The college organized the events of the 2nd Students’ Scientific Camp on February 7th and 8th, 2024, under the slogan “From the bench to the market: Towards sustainable products, pharma-preneur.” The General Student Union of the college organized the event in collaboration with the General Administration of University Libraries at MUST Central Library. All three sectors of the college—the Education and Student Affairs sector, the Higher Studies and Research sector, and the Community Service and Environmental Development sector—collaborated as well. The event was sponsored by Evexia, a leading company in the cosmetics industry.
The judging committee, consisting of prominent members such as Dr. Rahab Ahmed Abdelmonem, the Dean of the college; Dr. Nadi Labib, the Dean of University Libraries; Dr. Maha Issa, the college’s Vice Dean for Higher Studies and Research; Dr. Naglaa Abdel Khalek, the Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development; Dr. Wala’a Hamada, the Vice Dean for Education and Students; Dr. Hadeer Tharwat, CEO of Evexia Cosmetics; Dr. Hadeer Shamloula, Assistant Dean of the college; and Dr. Mervat Mohamed, Director of the Psychological Counseling and Support Unit, attended the event.
Over 60 students and more than 40 faculty, assistant faculty, and administrative staff members from the college and Central Library participated. The teams were divided under the theme “From the bench to the market: Towards sustainable products, pharma-preneur.” Each team presented their presentation and explained their poster to the judging committee. The committee then discussed the participating teams’ products, and the winners were announced, from fifth to first place.
The first-place team was Team Number 2, named Botanciae, and they were honored with a trophy, a cash prize of 5000 Egyptian pounds, and the sponsorship of their project by Evexia. The participating judging committee and all the event organizers were also honored in recognition of their efforts in organizing the successful event
