The “Creative Industry Engagement Event for Egyptian Youth & Forbidden City Cultural and Creative Products Exhibition” was held on Thursday, May 30, 2024. The event took place in the university’s conference hall, where the Chinese side presented a documentary film about the Imperial Palace Museum in Beijing and its cultural artifacts. They also showcased a training project for Egyptian youth that will be held in China, focusing on Chinese museum collections.
The Director of the Imperial Palace Museum generously offered five scholarships to students studying Chinese at the College of Foreign Languages and Translation, as well as to students from other disciplines within the university, to attend an upcoming training course in China. This course aims to acquaint participants with the Imperial Palace Museum and its material and cultural collections, as well as to participate in learning the craft of creating cultural artifacts, considering it an important part of cultural production. Representatives of the museum also organized an exhibition at the university featuring some Chinese cultural artifacts
Moreover, Misr University for Science and Technology and the Imperial Palace Museum discussed potential cooperation with the university and other Chinese universities through the Imperial Palace Museum.
The event was attended by the Director of the Imperial Palace Museum and an accompanying delegation from the Chinese side, and from the university: Prof. Dr. Nihad El-Mahboub, Acting President of the University; Prof. Dr. Hussein Ibrahim, Dean of the College of Foreign Languages and Translation; Prof. Dr. Ahmed Adel, Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Naglaa Mahmoud, Vice Dean for Education and Student Affairs; along with several College members, teaching assistants, postgraduate students, and students from the College of Foreign Languages and Translation.
