Under the patronage of Mr. Khaled El-Toukhy, Chairman of the Board of Trustees at Misr University for Science and Technology, the Faculty of Media and Communication Technology, in collaboration with the Arab Heritage Center at the university, organized a memorial ceremony on the morning of Saturday, May 25, 2024, for the deceased Professor Dr. Hesham Atiya Abdel Maksoud, the former dean of the Faculty of Media and Communication Technology at Misr University for Science and Technology.
The event was supervised and managed by Professor Dr. Anas Atiya Al-Faqi, Director of the Arab Heritage Center, Editor-in-Chief of Misr University Journal of Humanities Studies, and General Supervisor of Religious and Cultural Activities at the university, along with Professor Dr. Howaida Mostafa, Dean of the Faculty of Media and Communication Technology
The family of the late Professor Dr. Hesham Atiya Abdel Maksoud attended the memorial ceremony, where Professor Dr. Nihad El-Mahboub, the university president, presented them with the university shield in honor of the late professor’s contributions to the university
The ceremony was also attended by vice presidents, members of the university council, advisors to the Chairman of the Board of Trustees, deans, department heads, faculty members, assistant staff, and students of the Faculty of Media. Additionally, Professor Dr. Soraya Al-Badawi, Dean of the Faculty of Media at Cairo University, and several colleagues of the late professor from the Faculty of Media at Cairo University were present.
Professor Dr. Anas Atiya Al-Faqi recited a poem in memory of Professor Dr. Hesham Atiya Abdel Maksoud, which included the following lines:
هشامُ كان سراجًا حلَّ ساحتنا
نعم الصديقُ ونعم الخِلُّ والجارُ
وعاش فينا زمانا كلُّه دأبٌ
لصنع جيل له في العلم مقدارُ
Professor Dr. Mohamed Fathy Farag, a professor at the Faculty of Oral and Dental Medicine, delivered a speech on behalf of the university’s faculty members titled “Professor Dr. Hesham Atiya Abdel Maksoud: A Journey of Great Excellence and Abundant Giving.”
A documentary produced by the Faculty of Media studio was also presented, highlighting the academic and professional journey of Professor Dr. Hesham Atiya Abdel Maksoud, featuring testimonials from university leaders, colleagues, friends, and students.
