An Agreement of Collaboration between the University of Huddersfield in England and Misr University for Science and Technology

The College of Oral and Dental Surgery at Misr University for Science and Technology signed an agreement of collaboration with the Center for Precision Technologies (CPT) at the University of Huddersfield in England, and this came during the visit of a delegation from Misr University for Science and Technology, including Prof. Ashraf Haider, President of the University and Prof. Hala El-Menoufy, Dean of the College of Medicine and Oral and Dental Surgery, and Prof. Hassan El-Shamy, Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development, to the University of Huddersfield, England, and in the presence of the Egyptian cultural advisor in England, Dr. Rasha Kamal.

Prof. Ashraf Haider mentioned that the visit included an exploratory visit to the Surface Metrology Laboratory, where 3D printing devices which deal with different types of metals are available and are considered one of the latest devices in the world in this field, and such laboratory capabilities serve the research plan of the college in a number of specialties, including Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, Periodontal Surgery, Dental Prostheses, and Conservative Dentistry. Various research laboratories were also visited, which include many devices, such as: (SEM – Micro CT – AFM Machines – Instron Machines), this was accompanied by an ample explanation that was given to the delegation of Misr University for Science and Technology by Professor Liam Blunt.

Prof. Ashraf Haider also added that he discussed with Professor Liam all aspects of the Master’s program in Digital Implantology that will be in collaboration with the Center for Precision Technologies and agreed on awarding the title “Master of Digital Implantology in Collaboration with Center for Precision Technologies, University of Huddersfield”. The Master’s program includes six Modules distributed over three academic years and six semesters combined with practical and research work. Additionally, the student will be granted a separate certificate from the CPT center on the condition that he complete the required research and practical training in the center, and to be present for a period of three months under full supervision from the center tutors.

Moreover, Prof. Hala El-Menoufy, Dean of the College of Oral and Dental Surgery, stated that an intensive meeting was held with Professor Paul, Coordinator of International Cooperation at the University of Huddersfield, England, to investigate the possibility of student exchange between faculty members and the assistant staff to carry out various research in the fields of Medicine, Dentistry, Engineering, Biotechnology and Pharmacy, as well as the possibility of student exchange for undergraduate students.

Prof. Hala El-Menoufy confirmed that numerous fields of research cooperation that might be implemented between Misr University for Science and Technology and the Center for Precision Technologies (CPT) were discussed.
