“Participation of the College of Pharmaceutical Sciences and Drug Manufacturing at Misr University in the ‘One-Day Market’ Activities to Support Community and Health Initiatives”

In alignment with its humanitarian and societal role, the College of Pharmaceutical Sciences and Drug Manufacturing at Misr University for Science and Technology participated for the third consecutive Friday, on November 29, 2024, in the “One-Day Market” activities held in Nasr City, Helwan, and Imbaba. This initiative was in collaboration with the Ministry of Supply and Internal Trade and Cairo Governorate. This participation is part of the college’s efforts to support initiatives aimed at alleviating the burden on citizens and enhancing market stability, within the framework of the college’s “Towards a Healthy Lifestyle” initiative. The participation included:

• Providing proper nutritional guidance and emphasizing the importance of following a balanced diet.

• Offering first aid services.

• Raising awareness about the significance of healthy habits to improve quality of life

“One-Day Market” Project: Launched by the Ministry of Supply in collaboration with Cairo Governorate, the project aims to:

• Reduce the supply chain by delivering goods directly from manufacturers to consumers, thereby lowering prices.

• Offer discounts of up to 30% on commodity prices compared to local markets.

• Provide a variety of essential products such as meat, poultry, oils, rice, sugar, legumes, pasta, vegetables, fruits, eggs, dairy products, tea, and coffee.

• Maintain a reserve of goods to ensure sustainable fulfillment of citizens’ needs

College’s Commitment to Sustainable Development Goals and Egypt’s Vision 2030:

• Goal 12 of the Sustainable Development Goals (Responsible Consumption and Production): Supporting sustainable consumption and production patterns to ensure the availability of healthy and safe products at competitive prices.

• Egypt’s Vision 2030: The college seeks to contribute to improving the quality of life for Egyptian citizens through innovative initiatives that serve economic, social, and developmental objectives

The college’s participation was under the patronage of:

• Mr. Khaled El-Toukhy, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Misr University for Science and Technology. • Prof. Dr. Nihad Al-Mahboub, President of Misr University for Science and Technology, and Dean of the College of Medicine.

• Prof. Dr. Rehab Ahmed Abdel-Moneim, Dean of the College of Pharmaceutical Sciences and Drug Manufacturing
