Biotechnology Students Conference 2023 

Under the patronage of Mr. Khaled Al-Toukhy, Chairman of the Board of Trustees, Prof. Ashraf Haider, University President, Prof. Sherif Refaat, Vice-President for Education and Students Affairs and Prof. Mokhtar El-Zawahri, Vice-President for Follow-up and Documentation, the College of Biotechnology has organized the Biotechnology Students Conference-2023 on July 17th, 2023, in the main Conference Hall of the university. A large number of students attended, whether participating in research or not. Students also attended the conference from the Sultanate of Oman as a part of the Student Exchange Program among Arab Universities. Among the sponsoring companies, representatives of Sanabel Integrated Agricultural Solutions Company, as well as the Nawa Scientific Center Company also attended. The following arbitration committee handled the research: 

– Prof. Khaled Adly Mohamed Khaled Professor of Genetics and Bioinformatics, Faculty of Agriculture, Beni-Suef University. 

– Prof. Rehab Ahmed Abdelmonem 

Professor of Pharmaceutics and Industrial Pharmacy, Faculty of Pharmacy, MUST. 

– Dr. Ayman Mohamed Metwally 

Assoc. Prof. at Technology of Medical Laboratory Department, College of Applied Health Science, MUST. 

– Dr. Mahmoud Tantawy 

Lecturer of Cardiology, Faculty of Medicine, MUST. 

– Dr. Mai Mohamed Labib Shaban 

Researcher at Bioinformatics Department, Agriculture Genetic (AGERI), Agriculture Research Center (ARC)Engineering Research Institute.   

The final list of submitted research selected by the scientific committee of the conference included 18 research presented in the form of a presentation and 16 research presented as a poster. At the end of the conference, Prof. Ashraf Haidar, University President, congratulated Prof. Hala Eissa, Dean of the College, the President of the Conference, and all members of the conference committees on the success of the conference. 

The President urged the students to actively participate in such conferences because of its great impact in refining their experiences and developing their abilities, wishing them success in the future. Then, he handed certificates of appreciation to the members of the jury and the winning students. 

The winners of the first five places in the presentation competition received financial prizes presented by Prof. Mokhtar El-Zawahri. The winners of the first five positions in the presentation competition, in addition to the winners of the first six positions in the poster competition, received financial prizes from Sanabel Integrated Agricultural Solutions, as follows:
