World Day for Safety and Health at Work

Under the patronage of Mr. Khaled El-Toukhy, Chairman of the Board of Trustees, and Professor Dr. Nihad El-Mahboub, Dean of the College of Medicine and Acting President of the University, a conference was held for the World Day for Safety and Health at Work. This event was organized in collaboration with the Egyptian Ministry of Labor, led by His Excellency Minister Hassan Shehata, and the Giza Governorate, under the leadership of Governor Major General Ahmed Rashad

The conference was supervised by Professor Dr. Ahmed Fouad, the College’s Vice-Dean for Community Service and Environmental Affairs, and featured the participation of Professor Dr. Mohamed Zazaou, Executive Director of Souad Kafafi University Hospital, and the hospital’s Occupational Safety and Health Administration.

Distinguished attendees included Engineer Ghada Ibrahim, Head of the Central Administration for Occupational Safety and Health at the Ministry of Labor; Engineer Raja Hussein, Senior Researcher at the Central Administration for Occupational Safety and Health; Mr. Mohamed Ramadan, Deputy Director of the Giza Labor Directorate; Engineer Amani Ismail, Director of Occupational Safety and Health Administration in Giza; Engineer Rabab Awais, Director of the Occupational Safety and Health Office in October City; Engineer Asmaa Taha and Dr. Asmaa Kamal, members of the Occupational Safety and Health Administration in Giza; Engineer Rasha Salam and Dr. Sara Talat, members of the Occupational Safety and Health Office in October City

The conference included educational lectures on the impact of climate change on workers in the workplace and the role of occupational safety and health bodies in ensuring that institutions apply the latest standards to guarantee employee safety. It emphasized the continuous work to improve the efficiency of occupational safety and health measures in various workplaces and to spread awareness across all different job sectors

The conference also presented a summary of the state of occupational safety and health at the College of Medicine and Souad Kafafi University Hospital, including achievements made on the ground in previous years and ongoing development plans
