Upon the invitation of the Faculty of Foreign Languages and Translation and MUST Central Library represented by the “Reading Club”,  Dr. Murad Gatin, Director of Russian Cultural Centers and Cultural Counselor of the Russian Federation in Egypt, visited Misr University for Science and Technology on Monday 27th March, 2023 to discuss ways of scientific cooperation between MUST and Russian universities, and to give a lecture on (Egyptian Culture in Russia) to the faculty and university students.

During his conversation with Prof. Dr. Ashraf Haidar, President of the University, Gatin thanked the university administration for its initiative of launching the Department of Russian Language and Translation and discussed possible ways of cooperation  between the two countries. Gatin further noted that this year marks the eightieth anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Russia and Egypt speaking of the joint projects currently being implemented. Gatin also invited the college students to attend the activities held by the Russian House in Cairo.

This ceremonial event took place in the presence of Prof. Hussein Ibrahim, Dean of the Faculty of Languages and Translation; Prof. Mohamed Nasr El-Gebali, Head of the Department of Russian Language and translation, and former Cultural counselor of Egypt in Russia; Dr. Nada Labib, Director General of MUST Central Libraries and Board of Trustees Chairman Advisor for University Library Affairs; Prof. Naglaa Mahmoud, Vice Dean for Education and Student Affairs; and Prof. Ahmed Adel Abdel Mawla, Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development, who presented the ceremony.

After delivering his talk, the “Reading Club” represented Gatin a certificate of appreciation. This festive day was culminated by a visit to the Central Library where Gatin represented a set of Russian books as a gift for the library and was introduced to the various facilities offered by the library to the students and researchers.
